If You Are Not Big On Editing - Learn Why You Should Edit Your Articles!

I am not very active as a writer these days and that is mostly due to the fact that my home life is hectic. Not just a little hectic, it is completely and utterly out of control at times.

Some of my followers will already be aware of the fact that I am a father of 3 kids and they are getting bigger, doing more things like playing soccer and attending Boy Scout meetings and outings and they need to be driven here, there and everywhere on a daily basis. My wife is a nurse and she loves her job, so she works full time. I also work full time as a teacher of English here in the western part of Japan and I also work part time as a Baker, which is my real passion and has been a passion since I first discovered baking in my early teens. My first job was working in a bakery on Saturday mornings when I was just 13 years old. A bit young, I know, but that was back in the day when kids were allowed to work.

Anyway, I feel as though this little capsule that I have added to this page today will be enough to have this hub page featured again....

For those of you that do not know what that means, let me tell you. In my case, a good 95 to 98 percent of all of my hubpages earnings comes from featured hubs. They are hubs that hub pages actively promotes both within their site and in the search engines. They get a good amount of daily traffic and people tend to spend more time than usual on these hubs reading the information that they provide. Basically they are hubs that provide a good amount of quality information that people find either entertaining and / or useful. Entertaining and useful information is the best kind of information, so they get rewarded.

So, my final piece of advice to you is to go and edit some of your hubs that are not being featured and try to get them featured again.

If your articles are not being read, then maybe you just need to revise them a little, change a few things around, maybe reformat the layout.

I know that not everyone likes to or even wants to edit their articles. It is an important skill and every single author of any level should learn how to edit their articles. To understand WHY you should edit your articles, keep reading!!

I am a very big consumer of articles. I read probably nearly 50 of them everyday, mostly because I like to read and I can't always find a book that I can immerse myself in.

Articles are super easy to find, you just have to do a simple search for whatever you are looking for and the results will direct you to one of many of the online article directories. I personally like to use ezine articles, because I am able to find a slightly better quality of article.

Anyway, I am also a writer of articles and I write at least one article everyday that I can post either here at hub pages or on one of my blogs. So you can probably imagine why I read so many articles, am I right? Well, the answer is research and knowledge. I am an information geek.

That is why I am often disappointed when I find articles that have a great title and are based upon a topic that I am interested in... BUT, they are really not very good. They are nearly always written in English, but there are so, so many articles that are not written by native English speakers and these articles are effectively unreadable. They are CRAP!

I will sometimes read a badly written article over and over again, just to try and determine what the writer of the article is actually trying to convey to the reader. Sometimes I am able to make some kind of sense out of them, but other times I am at a complete loss and can not make any kind of sense out of them at all. In fact I read an article (just yesterday) that was the same paragraph that had been rewritten over and over again about 16 times creating the effect of being an original well written article at a glance, but the information that was provided in every paragraph was the same...

Articles like these (there are many) are actually considered to be spam and should be deleted from any or all the directories they have been submitted to. They are plain and they are ugly! What's more, is they are just making it harder for people to find the information that they are seeking.

I am an internet marketer, a blogger, and a consumer of articles and information on the internet. I read articles for pleasure and research. Like many of you. I have never in my life used an article spinning and or rewriting software and all of my articles a hand written by me. I first write a draft in a notebook, usually a summary of the article I want to write, then I just forget about it for a few days and let the idea stew in my mind. Then I will come back to the article and add a few extra notes and some more ideas and lastly, write the final draft here or at one of my blogs. The result is what you are reading now, a well written article. Or at least I like to think that it is. I'll let you be the judge....lol

The simple point I have been trying to make is that 'If an author is not willing to write an article that is worthy of being read, they should not write an article at all!'

I am sick of reading 'CRAP' articles and I can probably say with some degree of certainty that many of you are in the same boat as me. So my advice to anyone wishing to write articles for directories or for their websites and blogs, is to EDIT and then REEDIT your articles and make them worthy of being read 'especially' if you are not a native speaker of English.

So, do yourself a favor and create quality content. After all, it is going to be around for a very, very long time.
