Now you get a brand new Dvd movie, or most likely an Anime or Television show series and you don’t want to lose or break the real copy of the disk. Many people believe it is a consumers RIGHT to do whatever they want with whatever they pay for, as long as it doesn’t break a company rights to the content on it. For example the loss of profit from selling bootleg copies. Companies, trying to prevent this really are stopping you, the consumer, from your own rights! If you want to make up a personal use copy of any Dvd, this is how it is done simple and easy.

The Problem...

The first time I encountered this problem was on the 8th disc I was trying to copy. I loved this series and really wanted to keep it, so I wished to make a copy. Now, if you don’t have it now (get) it is to use the software Dvd Shrink. Dvd shrink is the best software for this, and best of all its freeware. A simple google search will give you a download for it.

This is what the "Cyclic Redundancy Check Error" looks like.

AnyDVD is a great source, but it isn't free forever, just for a trail. It allows AnyDvd to be copied, getting rid of those pesky dvd protecting programs.

While using Dvd Shrink, an error kept coming up called cyclic redundancy check. I was like “what the heck is that?” So I did my research on google, just to find many top experts suggesting “Clean the disc”. I known for a fact the disc was clean and readable so it wasn’t that. It then took more than 3 weeks of searching until I came upon the solution I needed to removed the error and copy the Dvd – AnyDvd. AnyDvd is a program you run before you insert a disc. What it does is remove the protection of the disc for the current time, allowing Dvd Shrink to take it with no problems at all. It does this in the background and reads the discs as you put them in. A notification then tells you when the Dvd is fully ready to copied. Although, just because you have downloaded, doesn’t mean you can burn it to a ready to play cd.

ImgBurner is the best software, taking the files made by Dvd Shrink and burning them to your disk.

The best cd burner I found for free was ImgBurn. ImgBurn can take the folders created by Dvd Shrink and put them onto the disc in a format all ready to be played on players. So far, all the content I added this way was readable on other computers, Dvd Players, and a PlayStation 2.

Paying close attention, you might have realized you can copy, duplicate, and burn any Dvd with freeware virus free. The only catch is, AnyDvd is a free trial, after that’s up you need to pay for it. A lifetime subscription to AnyDvd is currently 64 Euros OR about $94 US dollars. Personally this is the program setup I use, and it works great! Don’t forget if you’re going to copy a lot of Dvd’s to your computer to store the files on a spare drive so your internal HD doesn’t get warn out!
