Extreme Hillary Fans: Get Some Class!
63This morning on the train, as I tried to wipe the sleep away from my groggy eyes and prepare for another Monday (and yes, I do have a very bad case of the Mondays), I read a very disturbing article in the Boston Metro about some extreme Hillary supporters that vandalized over 10k in property in Florida over the weekend. In addition, just yesterday I read an upsetting op-ed piece in the Times about a woman who disrupted a press meeting between Hillary and Obama by screaming from the crowd, waving anti-Obama signs, and theatrically stuffing cotton in her ears when he started to talk to demonstrate her displeasure.
On Saturday, business cards were placed on each of the sixty cars that were spray-painted and vandalized glorifying Mrs. Clinton and slandering Mr. Obama and his rival, Mr. McCain. In another similar outrageous and mutinous move, Carmella Lewis, the woman who caused a scene at the press outing, told Mrs. Clinton at a meet-and-greet, "You're going to be the next president...I have a gut feeling that something's going to happen so that [you] become the nominee."
That is a bit threatening, don't you think? And very uncalled for. It was a close race, and at times a bitter one, but I feel the need to remind extreme Hillary supporters that this is America, and we do not get what we want politically through guerilla violence and mayhem.
These extreme supporters need to get a life, get some perspective, and get some class. Obviously, the best way to show your support for Hillary is to destroy public property and look like a total ignorant, uneducated, buffoon (mmm, smell the sarcasm!).
Yet at the same time, we are reaping the seeds that were sown when we allowed the primary race to get so ridiculous, ungracious, and individualistic. Instead of doing what was best for their party, both Hillary and Obama fought it out to the end because they wanted to be president, despite the damage it would cause internally to the party. So now, when the Democrats need to unite and rally under their party flag, we are seeing that there are really three political parties in the race: the Republicans, the Obama Democrats, and the Hillary Democrats.
I am not saying that you have to like every choice that is made - you might not like Obama, and have a right not to. But have some self-respect and show your displeasure in a mature way, like at the polls in November, for example. Not by spraying Orlando city vehicles with the clever line, "Obama Smokes Crack!"
I hate to break it to you, extreme Hillary supporters, but the game is over, the gig is up, and the votes cast. And guess what, your fearless leader didn't win. And also guess what, her insistence to persevere in spite of party needs has potentially caused serious harm to the democratic cred and spirit. So have some class, have some pride, and have some brains, for all of our sakes. By acting so foolish you reflect bad on everyone who supported, and still supports, her, her efforts, and what she stands for.
Oh yea, and spray painting cars is just really lame.

Couldn't agree with you more, Isolde. What's up with these bitter women who just can't get out of victim mode and are trashing everything like two year olds because they can't have their way. They should take a cue from Hillary and Bill--both of whom were great at the DNC. Great hub!!!!
